Watch Faith No More Cover Foo Fighters’“All My Life”

In their early days, Faith No More‘s frontman Mike Patton was as likely to make fun of other bands as to say anything nice about them. More likely, actually. He’s a guy who mocked Guns N Roses and Metallica continuously while opening for them on tour, and he ribbed the Red Hot Chili Peppers often through the years, despite showing a pretty blatant Anthony Kiedis influence on FNM’s most successful album, The Real Thing.

But maybe he’s mellowed a bit, or maybe he just felt bad about Dave Grohl’s recent stage injury, in which he broke his leg and had to cancel a string of European tour dates, potentially costing the Foo Fighters millions.  Whatever the case may be, Patton and Faith No More paid tribute to the Foos for a few seconds during the breakdown of FNM’s 1992 classic “Mid Life Crisis,” by throwing in a bit of the Foos’ 2002 classic “All My Life” (before going into yet another classic, the Trashmen’s 1963 “Surfin’ Bird,” popularized by the Ramones).
